sarah + adam’s story

Sarah Salley and Adam Reiser’s New Orleans wedding was a heartfelt celebration woven with meaningful moments, family memories, and local flair. The couple first met by chance at a rooftop wedding in Los Angeles – one that had been postponed due to COVID. Sarah, a New Orleans native, and Adam, who had just moved back to the U.S. after five years in Japan, were seated next to each other. “It felt like the universe carefully rearranged everything just to place us next to each other on that perfect evening,” Sarah shares.

Their ceremony in the Bestoff Sculpture Garden was filled with tributes to loved ones. Before the ceremony, Sarah visited Storyland for a photo beside her late grandmother Coleen Salley’s bench – a beloved local icon and children’s book author. At the reception inside the New Orleans Museum of Art, a piece from the permanent collection honors her maternal grandmother, Carmen Stargardter, who worked at the museum for over three decades.

From their dogs walking down the aisle to Sarah’s mother dancing joyfully after recovering from a liver transplant, the day was full of unforgettable moments. “It is impossible to choose one favorite part,” Sarah said, “but watching my parents dance together again is something I’ll never forget.”
