parker + gilbert’s story

College sweethearts Parker Raycroft and Gilbert Adams met as freshmen at Baylor University and have been inseparable ever since. Gilbert proposed during his family’s annual holiday trip to Colorado, leading Parker from her favorite store, Kemo Sabe, to a snow-covered bridge where he dropped to one knee on New Year’s Eve. “He surprised me by having my whole family fly down – we celebrated all night with both of our families!” Parker shares.

Their New Orleans wedding blended Southern charm with playful touches, including pickle shots from their favorite Baylor bar, The Buckle, hand-delivered from Waco by Parker’s sister. Guests also loved the second-line parade, a first for many of their out-of-town friends, and a celebrity cameo when the couple happened to meet James Franco at their hotel bar. With both sets of parents married in New Orleans, it was the perfect city for a love story that continues to come full circle.
