Kimbla’s Cakes

Growing up in Southwest Louisiana, Kim developed a passion for baking while creating traditional Cajun desserts along side her mother and grandmother in the kitchen. This passion quickly grew into a love for the artistic side of cake design in high school.
Kimbla officially went “pro” with her cake shop, Sweet Sensations by Kim Trahan, opening in 2010 in Jennings, Louisiana. Only a year after the shop was opened, Kim entered her first cake competition in 2011 in Austin, Texas where she won first place in the professional wedding cake category. This cake was later published in the national magazine entitled “American Cake Decorating” in the January/February 2012 edition. After falling for and marrying her husband, Joseph Carinhas, Kim rebranded and relocated her shop to Morgan City, Louisiana in 2016.
Kim is excited to provide quality work and delicious designs to clients in all of south Louisiana areas as well as to those who already know and love her specialty cakes.
