Dear Bride,

First off, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Celebrating love is one of the most joyous things we can do in this life, and it deserves to be honored with care, intention, and the people who support you most.

Relationships can be tricky to navigate, and though a beautiful occasion, wedding planning can be stressful.

It has a way of bringing both the best and the most tender parts of our relationships to the surface. Your wedding party is your krewe, and you want them there for the big moments, and some of the small ones too. Whatever the situation, it would hurt if one of your krewe members didn’t show up. We all know life happens, and maybe this is a one-off, but if you are concerned that a celebrated member of your bridal party doesn’t have your best interest in mind, it may be time to pull back and evaluate the relationship with curiosity rather than assumption.

It’s your relationship, not the situation, that needs attention. That’s where I focused my energy when pulling your Tarot card.

The Card: Seven of Pentacles

The Seven of Pentacles indicates hard work, patience, and your investments paying off over time rather than all at once. It takes a leap of faith to plant a seed and trust that your efforts will yield fruit. As you can see from the illustration, she has put in the work and it’s paying off tenfold.

Are you both putting forth the kind of effort needed to maintain a close relationship? Is she a big part of your life outside the wedding planning? Have you had any conversations with her about your concerns, or have you been holding these feelings close to your chest?

As illustrated in the Seven of Pentacles, investments take time to pay off. An apple can take more than ten years to go from seed to succulent harvest.

In that time, the tree needs sunlight, water, and soil to develop and grow. Perhaps this relationship needs additional care or attention in order to truly take root and flourish. That might look like an honest conversation, a moment of understanding, or even simply giving each other the benefit of the doubt.

And then there are times where, in spite of all the right conditions, the tree will not mature, and it is no longer worth investing in. Only you know where you are. Only you can decide if you trust this person to be there for you, for your wedding, and beyond.

This is where you have the opportunity to lean into your intuition. There is wisdom in both continuing to nurture a relationship and in recognizing when it may no longer be aligned.

But I will say, more often than not, with communication and understanding, someone you would consider a matron of honor is a worthwhile investment. These kinds of relationships are often built over time, and are full of joyful memories, painful mishaps, love, and grace.

I’ll leave you with this: no matter what arises during the planning, the magic of your wedding is to honor and celebrate the bond between you and your future spouse. Everything else has a way of working itself out as it is meant to.

Warmest Wishes,

Mystic Myndee
