ashlie and scott’s story

“We initially met at an Auburn Football tailgate but that’s not when we started dating or even
talking,” shares Ashlie. Before ever meeting Scott, Ashlie first became friends with his sister
while attending Auburn University.

One day, years after graduating, Ashlie jokingly messaged who she thought was Scott’s sister
asking if he was single. As fate would have it, she sent the message directly to Scott instead!
“He replied, ‘Actually I am; how about you?’” shares Ashlie.

Before Ashlie knew it, Scott was driving from Fairhope, AL to Montgomery, AL to take her on
their first date.

On the anniversary of their first date, Ashlie met Scott in Fairhope for dinner. She bought a new
white dress – the color she wore on their first date. They arrived “a little early” for their dinner
reservations at The Grand Hotel, so Scott suggested a walk down to the water. As they walked
down the steps to the water’s edge, Scott presented her with red roses in a pewter mint julep
cup. Engraved on the cup were the words: “Will you marry me?”

“I look up and he’s on one knee with the ring in his hand,” says Ashlie. “ I obviously said ‘Yes!’”

The wedding was a black tie affair hosted at The Battle House Hotel & Spa in downtown Mobile, AL.

“My wedding turned out to be even more wonderful than I could’ve imagined!” says Ashlie. The day included many “First Looks,” as Ashlie’s father, grandmother and aunts all saw her for the first time in her wedding dress.

Of course, Ashlie and Scott also shared a private moment, seeing each other on the wedding day before the ceremony.

The last “First Look” was the moment Ashlie walked into the Moonlight Ballroom where the reception would take place to see how floral designer Glen Jenkins of The Shade Tree Floral Events & Design transformed the space. “It was a magical moment,” she shares.

The ceremony setting was equally gorgeous with white blooms surrounding the couple as they said their vows in The Atrium of the RSA Tower of the hotel.

At the end of the evening, Ashlie and Scott shared a dance to “The Good I’ll Do” by Zach Bryan before making their grand exit.

“The wedding had lots and lots of great moments…,” says Ashlie. “It was truly a dream!”
