madison + chapman’s story

“We met at the end of Summer of 2019,” says Madison. Chapman was starting his Junior year at Mississippi State University and Madison was starting her Sophomore year just down the road at East Mississippi Community College.

“There was an instant connection and we have been attached at the hip since,” says Madison.

The proposal happened on Christmas morning in 2022. Madison was convinced Chapman would propose in the weeks following Christmas, but he had other plans. “In Chapman fashion he had to throw me a curveball and do it in our pjs with our security camera videoing,” she shares. “I could not have asked for a better proposal.”

Madison and Chapman said “I do” at The Cottage Venue in Laurel, Mississippi with 300 friends and family in attendance.

The couple included family heirlooms in the details for their wedding day.

Chapman wore his late grandfather’s cufflinks and vintage Cartier watch and Madison carried a bouquet with a rose honoring her late aunt who passed away the Sunday before the wedding.

At the end of the ceremony, the couple walked down the aisle as husband and wife to “Burning Love” by Elvis Presley in honor of Madison’s late grandfather. He “was the biggest Elvis fan!” Madison shares.

The mirror welcome sign was also a family heirloom that once belonged to Madison’s great, great grandmother.

Chapman’s groom’s table at the reception was decked out in all things Mississippi State, honoring the place the couple met and where their relationship grew.

At the end of the evening, the couple did a private send-off with just their parents in attendance. The get-away car also had family ties. It was Chapman’s late grandfather’s most prized possession, his Mustang Shelby.
