Luther Hughes and Kenderick Richardson’s wedding in New Orleans was a celebration rich in love, tradition, and personal meaning. The couple got engaged on their fifth anniversary after Kenderick spent a full year secretly planning the proposal. He coordinated with Koach Giggz and Alki Beach Pride to stage it during a performance by Kutt ‘N’ Up, a Seattle dance company where Luther is a veteran performer. Luther was completely surprised when the music shifted to “So High” by John Legend, sung live by Ariyah Jané, and Kenderick stepped on stage to propose. Luther said yes, and Luther’s father joined them onstage to celebrate.

Their wedding ceremony included a Unity Sand presentation and concluded with the couple jumping the broom – honoring a long-standing tradition. The reception ended on a high note with a classic New Orleans second line, bringing everyone together in joyful celebration.
