ashly + ridge’s story

Ashly and Ridge met in 2018 in Panama City when both had been booked for a week-long photo shoot. As fate would have it, the two were paired up and given the role of “Husband and Wife” for the shoot! 

After the fateful photo shoot, Ridge and Ashley kept in touch, eventually dating long distance. They spent years flying back and forth to visit each other until March of 2020 when Ashly flew in to New Orleans to visit Ridge and his family. With the world in lockdown, the couple spent months together and decided that it was time for Ashly to move to Louisiana officially.

Ridge opted to have his tuxedo custom made by custom clothier Luca Falcone. “I knew I wanted black because I’ve always been drawn to the timeless classic look,” says Ridge, “and here in New Orleans it gets hot so I wanted something lightweight so we went with a suede cotton blend.” Ridge was thrilled when he learned that the tailors could create his tuxedo shirt with a detail he was hoping for: black piping on the edge.

Ashly found the perfect dress at the first boutique she visited, Linen Jolie Bridal. “After trying on the fourth dress – I knew I was done looking,” she shares of her stunning Enzoani Mikado mermaid gown. “It was beautifully classic in the front, and the back had a detachable, asymmetric bow that gave the WOW factor. I loved the bow so much I kept it on the whole reception!”

Ashly and Ridge chose St. Francis of Assisi church in New Orleans for their wedding ceremony. “When we saw the church in person, we both fell in love with it along with the neighborhood,” shares Ridge. “The church itself is absolutely beautiful – old wooden pews, the most gorgeous blue ceiling covering the altar, and the carving of the last supper is unlike any other in town.”

Ridge and Ashly chose Chateau Golf and Country Club for their wedding reception.

Ridge wanted his groom’s cake to bring together “all of the things that I enjoy and also that drew Ashly and I together,” he explains. “I started with a suitcase, because when we first met, we were long distance and I was always either flying to see her, flying her down to see me, or we were meeting somewhere neutral to work for 2 weeks because we worked in the same industry.” The badges noted all the cities he and Ashly went to together or commemorated photo shoots they worked on together during their first two years dating.

The evening ended with a traditional New Orleans Second Line followed by a surprise fireworks display as Ashly and Ridge left for their honeymoon!
