Some love stories take years to unfold, quietly growing between friendship and fate. For Lexie Faris and Andrew Brown, that story began in high school in Alabama.

“Andrew and I first crossed paths back in high school and hit it off right away – instant best friends!” Lexie shares. Their bond only deepened through the years, even as they went off to rival colleges, one to the University of Alabama – Roll Tide! –  and the other Auburn – War Eagle! “We stayed extremely close,” she says. “By senior year, we finally made it official and started dating- no shocker to anyone!”

After graduation, the two took on long distance, with Lexie moving to the fast-paced streets of New York City and Andrew settling along the Gulf Coast. Despite the miles, they made it work, though they soon realized that love was better without flight itineraries. “Eventually, we realized that racking up frequent flyer miles wasn’t nearly as fun as just being together,” Lexie says. The couple reunited in Florida and later made a home together in Virginia, where the next chapter of their story unfolded.

“One cozy day at home, Andrew totally surprised me by proposing at the bottom of our staircase – it was the sweetest, most perfect moment, just the two of us and our pup, Hazy,” Lexie shares.

Their wedding reflected that same spirit, heartfelt, joyful, and full of meaning. The couple decided to keep things traditional, saving their first glimpse of one another for the moment Lexie walked down the aisle. “We didn’t see or talk to each other the entire day until the walk down the aisle,” she says. “But we did sneak in a little sweetness by writing each other notes to read first thing in the morning. It was the perfect way to start the day – full of love, excitement, and just the right amount of butterflies!”

From high school best friends to husband and wife, Lexie and Andrew’s story is one built on laughter, loyalty, and lasting love, a reminder that sometimes, the person meant for you has been there all along.
