“Chibuzor and I met in Atlanta,” says Melie. “I lived there at the time, and Chibuzor still considered it home though stationed in Gulfport. He would make frequent trips, and we were fortunate enough to find each other on one of them. We were inseparable after that! “

Chibuzor proposed in one of his favorite cities – San Diego. ”He had planned a sunset proposal, but our travel plans didn’t allow…he ended up proposing in a little restaurant in downtown San Diego,” says Melie. “He took advantage of a magic show that was going on to create the most magical moment. I said Yes!”

“Our wedding was very intimate, just the two of us,” Melie shares. “We had previously had a smaller Nigerian traditional marriage with our close friends and family, and wanted this to be just us. We loved how intimate it was. We were able to just focus on each other without any of the typical distractions of a bigger gathering.”
