THE PROPOSAL: 

“The proposal was magical,” shares Doliecha. “After a year-long breakup, 2 military deployments, and a solo retirement trip to New Zealand, Kenneth realized that I was the missing part in his life. He asked me to be his wife before the lunch date had ended.” 

“Glam was on order as I traveled to New York City to search for my wedding dress,” says Doliecha. “I was lucky enough to get in on a trunk show at a top design boutique on 5th Avenue.”

“The favorite part of my wedding day was the horse and carriage ride,” shares Doliecha.

Doliecha walked down the aisle to a rendition by a professional vocalist of “I’m wishing on a Star” written by Rolls Royce. The couple said their marriage vows in an outdoor ceremony in front of 200 of their closest friends and family.

“Our tent wedding was spectacular. Kenneth and I created the best venue for our guests. When we stepped into the tent and onto the dance floor for our first dance, we were amazed at the beautiful decor.” 

My advice to future brides who wish to plan their own wedding is to set a timeline and budget that is realistic. Capture your inspirations and create a checklist to keep you “on track.” My inspiration for my wedding came from my late mother, Audrey D. Wilson. For many years she shared her expertise in bridal planning and design with several brides. Her style was always very classy and “over the top” glam.
