Avery & Bryce’s Story

After graduating from college in South Carolina, Bryce Miller was ready for a change. A job opportunity brought him to New Orleans sight unseen, while Avery Davis had recently returned to the city after graduating from LSU. A Tinder match introduced the two, and although their original plans at Bulldog fell through when Avery realized she’d left her ID at home, the pair quickly pivoted to a first date at Balcony Bar on Magazine Street. Six years later, Bryce proposed in Mexico City in front of the Sun Pyramid at Teotihuacan.

For their wedding, the couple wanted to blend meaningful traditions with the energy of a true New Orleans celebration. Together, Avery and Bryce have five sisters, who each played a role in the ceremony, allowing the couple to honor their families while keeping their wedding party intimate. A traditional cake pull and lively second line added local flair, while a first look on Avery’s grandmother’s terrace overlooking the city became one of the day’s most memorable moments.

“We wanted to mix traditional elements with a huge party vibe,” Avery shares. With many guests traveling from South Carolina, the couple created a full New Orleans experience, from live music and a second line to an after-party at Grits and a Sunday crawfish boil.
