Gina and Kenny: When The Pieces Fit

Love isn’t a game… but this story certainly started with one!

When Kenny met Gina, he used their mutual fondness of Tetris to woo her. He was able to get her phone number by suggesting that they hang out sometimes to play together. Innocent enough, right? Then, he casually “let” her win all the time. He was so convincing, in fact, that Gina only recently learned the truth! But, while it was a game that brought them together, their feelings for one another soon grew quite serious.

In Tetris, players turn and adjust falling pieces in order to fit together… like a puzzle. For Gina and Kenny, the “game” was easy from the start. The pieces of their lives fit together so easily, and it came so naturally, that they decided to play Tetris together for the rest of their lives.

The couple, living in Chicago, headed down to New Orleans with 125 of their family and friends and got married on July 23, 2018.

After getting ready at New Orleans Marriott on Canal St., Kenny and Gina shared a first look right outside of the Audubon Tea Room in Audubon Zoo. Then they went inside and started their wedding day off with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, where the bride and groom served the elder family members tea. When tea was done, they moved outside again to the Hygeia Fountain. In front of the beautiful water backdrop, Gina and Kenny said their vows.

The celebration continued back inside the Audubon Tea Room where guests enjoyed delicious food, catered by Audubon Zoo Events and danced the night away to music provided by All Out Entertainment.
