Color Theory: Colorful New Orleans Wedding Inspiration

Color Theory

AS SEEN IN THE FALL 2025 DIGITAL ISSUE OF NOW WEDDINGS MAGAZINE

Bold, artistic and unapologetically vibrant, this colorful New Orleans wedding editorial reimagines the wedding day through stained-glass inspiration, saturated florals and modern design. Created at Common House New Orleans, Color Theory brings together statement fashion, unexpected color palettes, contemporary décor and playful wedding details for couples looking beyond traditional neutrals.

Inspired by stained glass and saturated with color, this editorial reimagines the wedding day as an art form: expressive, inclusive, and boldly modern. From iridescent light play to vibrant textures and unexpected palettes, this editorial blurs the line between art and celebration.

A kaleidoscope of color sets the tone in this vibrant flat lay featuring stationery in a mix of layered acrylics by Creole Amour Laser Studio and luxe papers by Nice Day Events creates depth and texture, with shades of hot pink, lilac, and neon chartreuse nodding to the stained-glass inspiration behind Color Theory. Bold blooms from Cry Baby Floral infuse the composition with saturated energy. Finishing touches, including statement jewelry pieces from Mignon Faget’s new Legacy Wonderland Collection and radiant rings from Symmetry Jewelers, bring a soft shimmer that mirrors the interplay of light and color woven throughout the editorial.

Modern artistry meets timeless romance in this striking bridal duo.

Jayme wears the Avilia gown by Saint Bridal available at Unbridaled New Orleans, a sculptural masterpiece of textured mikado. Its asymmetrical neckline and bold draped folds evoke the carved elegance of 15th-century cathedrals, while the voluminous skirt and architectural train create movement that’s both powerful and poetic.  Soft waves and subtle volume by Mod Beauty by Nina give Jayme’s look a touch of effortless glamour, while makeup artist Melissa Vaccaro enhances her natural glow with fresh, luminous makeup and a hint of romantic warmth. Layered necklaces from Mignon Faget, including the Legacy Wonderland Bar Necklace, Legacy Era Chain Necklace, Rainbow Eclipse Freshwater Pearl Necklace, and Pylon Large Pendant, add an artful, modern edge to Jayme’s sculptural gown.

Beside her, Camille stuns in a two-piece look by Vagabond, also available at Unbridaled New Orleans. The matte stretch crepe design combines a sweetheart-inspired, boned corset and a curve-skimming mermaid skirt, balancing modern sensuality with refined structure.  A sleek, modern braid by Mod Beauty by Nina brings edge and structure to Camille’s style, perfectly complemented by Melissa Vaccaro’s polished makeup — a soft, radiant finish that balances drama with elegance. Camille’s jewelry by Mignon Faget, including the Wonderland Cotton Candy Pearl Necklace, Helix Necklace, and Knot Finial Lariat White Pearl, layers pearls and gold for a look that’s both modern and romantic.

Both brides carry hand-painted florals by Jess A Sketch Design Studio who transformed traditional bouquets with bold brushstrokes of color.

Set in the open-air courtyard of Common House New Orleans, this vibrant ceremony scene styled by Amanda Price Events and Foley Fêtes is a study in modern color and creative design. The arched stained-glass–inspired backdrop and matching stage, by Confetti and Co. Collective, anchor the space with architectural whimsy and bold, prismatic hues. Painted tropical florals by Cry Baby Floral frame the altar in vivid motion, echoing the stained-glass palette. Clear acrylic chairs from Element, detailed with colorful geometric decals by Confetti and Co. Collective, complete the playful yet polished setting.

Sophie wears Mignon Faget’s Legacy Wonderland Flip Ring and a 14K White Gold Half Bezel 2.5ct Emerald-Cut Diamond Engagement Ring from Symmetry Jewelers and carries a hand-painted orchid bouquet by Jess A Sketch Design Studio, adding a final brushstroke of artistry to this Technicolor “I do” moment.

In the Common House courtyard, Element’s Flamingeaux Pink Bar is adorned with bold florals by Cry Baby Floral and sleek acrylic signage by Creole Amour Laser Studio, setting the tone for a lively Color Theory cocktail hour. Geometric linens from Something Vintage pair effortlessly with clear acrylic chairs from Element, while Velvet & Wood’s vibrant lounge seating and pillows from Something Vintage create a chic space to unwind. The scene is finished with painted foliage by Jess A Sketch Design Studio.

The clean lines of Sophie’s gown from Yvonne LaFleur flow effortlessly into a full A-line skirt, balancing timeless elegance with modern edge. Her jewelry by Mignon Faget adds a soft yet striking complement: the Helix Necklace, Legacy Wonderland Earrings, Legacy Wonderland Flip Ring, Legacy Wonderland Lariat, and Pearl Collector Necklace layer natural shimmer and sculptural detail for a luminous, artful finish. A sleek updo by Mod Beauty by Nina highlights her elegant neckline, while Melissa Vaccaro’s radiant makeup, featuring fresh skin, soft rose tones, and a hint of lilac shimmer, brings modern polish to this luminous bridal moment.

Crisp tailoring meets effortless cool in this modern take on formalwear from John’s Tuxedos and Suits. A white dinner jacket with contrasting black lapels delivers a sleek, sculptural silhouette, balanced by an open collar and layered gemstone necklaces that add an unexpected edge. The look is refined yet relaxed, equal parts timeless and trend-aware. A vibrant boutonniere by Jess A Sketch Design Studio introduces a burst of color that ties the ensemble seamlessly into the editorial’s bold palette.

What would cocktail hour be without delicious bites and sips? Sophie and Trip enjoy curated caviar boards from The Loaded Charcuterie’s Caviar Cart, a luxe twist on the traditional grazing table that added an indulgent flair, perfectly paired with pours of Hampton Water Rosé. For dessert, Jayme and Camille visit The Sweet Assembly Cake Cart by Jenny’s Cake Creations which offers an interactive treat station where guests chose their cake flavor, buttercream, and toppings for a made-to-order, personalized sweet finish.

No wedding at Common House is complete without a rooftop photo session. Here, brides Jayme and Camille pose with the city skyline and shimmering pool as their backdrop, the wind catching Camille’s chiffon scarf for a moment of effortless elegance.

Inside Lilli Hall at Common House, Amanda Price Events and Foley Fêtes brought the reception to life with bold color and modern artistry. A fringe bar by Nice Day Events set the tone for the scene, while Confetti and Co. Collective transformed the space with stained-glass vinyl on the windows, a custom vinyl dance floor, and a curved stage by Calfee Productions. Something Vintage provided the colorful geometric linens, placemats, and napkins, complemented by hi boy tables with crisp white linens from BBJ La Tavola and elegant glassware and dishes from The Glassy Lady. Cry Baby Floral’s vibrant arrangements, displayed in 3D-printed vases by Calfee Productions, echoed the hand-painted floral wall art by Jess A Sketch Design Studio, while acrylic menus, table numbers, and signage from Creole Amour Laser Studio added a sleek finish. Radiant Rentals’ uplighting bathed the room in a colorful glow, completing this immersive, color-driven celebration.

A modern celebration of texture and light, this striking display pairs a textured three-tier cake by Jenny’s Cake Creations with a self-filling champagne tower by Calfee Productions. The sculptural setup rests on custom pedestals, also by Calfee Productions, accented with bold florals by Cry Baby Floral and a graphic geometric linen from Something Vintage. Radiant Rentals’ uplighting bathes the scene in rich color.

Sophie and Trip stepped into Boogie Booth’s open-style photo booth, where translucent prints echoed the stained-glass theme in luminous color, a modern twist on a classic keepsake.

Brides Camille and Jayme joined the fun with the Yours Truly Dispensed sticker dispenser, showing off their custom stickers and manicures by Passport Polish, the perfect playful touch to this vibrant celebration.

After the photo shoot wrapped, Common House opened its doors to local wedding professionals for an evening of connection and celebration. The courtyard came alive under bistro lights, a perfect setting for creative collaboration and community to shine.

Artist Brennan Steele transformed the Julia Street façade of Common House with an immersive video mapping installation, projecting intricate patterns of light and motion that added a mesmerizing layer of artistry to the evening’s celebration.
