antoinette + sherman’s story

What began as a friendly bowling game in 2021 turned into something neither Antoinette nor Sherman expected. “Sherman’s patience met Antoinette’s laughter,” and somewhere between shared pizza and easy conversation, a spark was lit. As they spent more time together, they discovered something else that bonded them deeply. They were both from New Orleans, rooted in the same traditions, values, and love of family.

Returning home to say “I do” felt inevitable.

Their wedding day unfolded as a joyful love letter to the city that shaped them. After the ceremony at Felicity Church, guests spilled into the streets for a second line that wrapped around the church, brass band leading the way. Cocktail hour followed in the alley at Marché, before Antoinette and Sherman made their grand entrance with another second line procession into the celebration.

The couple’s favorite moments captured the magic perfectly. Dancing through the streets, throwing beads from the balcony, and celebrating with friends and family, Antoinette says it best. It “felt like Mardi Gras day.” Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration of love. It was a homecoming.
